My name is Samuel.
I want to make art that matters and to tell stories that provoke discussion. The birth of modern Virtual Reality technology provides the perfect platform for narrative, art, interactivity and empathy. My first project is a game that places the player in the role of executioner in an early-modern period historical setting. It is called 'Sentenced', and it will explore the psychological relationship between personal conscience and obedience to authority.
Since I was young I've always loved creating and telling stories. My father is a carpenter who works building scenery for motion pictures, and from a young age I would visited him at work and play make-believe on alien spaceships and in haunted woods. After graduating University in 2009, I followed him into the world of movie-making, but in my own way; as a digital modelling artist in Visual Effects.
In the VFX industry I worked as a Senior Artist for Framestore, Industrial Light and Magic and Weta Digital, creating creatures, props, environments and vehicles on films such as Gravity, Avengers: Age of Ultron, The Jungle Book, Ready Player One and more. If you’re interested in checking out my work in VFX, please click here. However, after so long making big films in a corporate environment, I've decided to break out on my own, following my passion to work on something I care about deeply.
I was born and raised in the UK, in a village called Penn. I’ve lived in London, Budapest, Wellington and currently Berlin. I’m now working full time on 'Sentenced', with the aim of releasing sometime in 2019.
